Fellow progressives, stay inspired, do not get frustrated. While it may be tough to resist the mainstream media's decision to shove the Clinton/Trump "lesser of two evils" argument in our faces, we must remember that their exist alternatives. Oftentimes we do not hear about them because it is not in the interest of the mainstream media to not endorse corporately funded or corporate minded candidates.
As of this post, Bernie Sanders is still fighting the good fight to either win the democratic nomination, or at least shift Hillary Clinton into actually employing a truly progressive platform at the Democratic Convention, July 25th through the 28th in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Should Bernie not be able to secure the nomination, and should Clinton completely disavow his advice and warnings about signing the disastrous Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), the need to reverse Citizens United, being influenced by Wall Street and corporate donations, or escalating wars overseas rather than focusing our attention here at home - fixing our crumbling infrastructure, combating economic inequality, combating climate change so we can leave a better world for future generations, and replacing our flawed healthcare system with a single payer system, if we cannot get Hillary and the Democratic party to shift gears, we must seek an alternative candidate.
I would say that such an alternative would be Jill Stein of the Green Party. She shares much of Bernie Sanders' platform (the above mentioned ideas) and will be a welcome alternative to the broken 2 party system that continues to benefit greedy corporations, rather than the American people its supposed to serve. Remember, when we stand together, we win, and we must not give in to the politics of fear.
Check out Bernie and Jill's respective websites and keep up to date on progressive politics to see how we can seek real progressive change, get progressives elected at the state and local levels, or even beyond the elections, and bring our government back into the hands of the American public, and out of the hands of corporations and lobbyists.
The election system must be changed to offer more choices, be fairer, less about who has the most money to dump into a campaign, more accessible and more transparent to all Americans.
I doubt he will cause a 3rd world war as many memes said XD And if he brings Kim down I´d applaude^^
Bernie- Nah son hes a Socialist
Trump/Hillary - Leave this planet
Gary - Yeh
I can agree with you on Trump and Clinton.
Johnson? He's a corporate lackey similar to Trump and Clinton that would be for corporate takeover of the government - which is essentially what Trump's actually doing right now.
America needs a decent balance between capitalism and socialism, but at the moment, it needs to end its use of crony-capitalism, I think having a socialist president for a term or two would be a good thing. Not to get rid of capitalism and enforce socialism, but to instill some balance. Social programs that help the underprivileged, environmental programs that improve the ecological state of America, taxes on the obscenely wealthy to help alleviate the economic struggles of the impoverished, and watchdog groups that do a better job of taking down government waste and corruption.
And also realize Bernie is the as whole that said that white people never experience poverty, and wouldn't trust Jill with our military.
